Simple appointments: any office that serves by schedule, bookable online today

Marriage licenses, animal services, permits, licensing, consumer affairs. Each office defines its services, sites and time slots; residents pick a time from their phone and arrive on time, with no line.

Most city offices serve by schedule but without a schedule: residents show up, take a number and wait. Govlink™’s Simple Appointments module is the fastest way to give any of them online booking, with no development and without waiting for the service itself to be digitized.

Which offices it is for

Any service delivered at a place, at a time, by a person. These are the most common; each city builds its own list.

  1. County clerk and licensing

Marriage licenses, vital records, business licenses: each type with its own length and capacity per slot, at every site where it is served.

  2. Animal services

Spay and neuter, vaccination, pet licenses, scheduled inspections. Appointments by site and type, with daily capacity.

  3. Permits, zoning, building

Contractors and property owners served at an assigned time, so the office works through an orderly queue and not a packed waiting room.

  4. Any counter with a line

Consumer affairs, social services, resident assistance. If there is a line, there is a simple appointment that replaces it.

How a service gets set up with appointments

The office itself configures it from the back office. IT does not need to be involved.

  1. The office defines the service

Service name, sites where it is served and appointment types at each site, with their length. For example: Driver licensing → Main office → Renewal, fifteen minutes.

  2. It sets the schedule rules

Days and hours, how many appointments per slot, the minimum booking lead time and how far out the calendar opens. The rules belong to each appointment type, not to the system.

  3. Residents book and get a receipt

With Govlink ID they pick a site, type and open time. Capacity is checked on confirmation: if two people want the same slot, only one gets it and the other sees the updated availability.

  4. Reminder, check-in and close-out

A reminder with a cancel option arrives before the appointment. At the office it is marked checked in, served or no-show, and the appointment is recorded for the dashboards.

What changes for the office and for residents

No line and no packed waiting room

Each resident arrives at their time. The office serves an orderly, predictable queue and knows in the morning how many people it will see that day.

Kiosk, counter and app share one schedule

A kiosk at the entrance, a clerk or the state’s app book through the API against the same capacity. There are no two calendars stepping on each other.

Real demand for each service becomes visible

How many appointments are requested, how many are used, at which site and what time. That decides where to open more slots and where staff is in excess.

The same foundation as health appointments

When a service needs a schedule per provider —like health centers— it moves to the Health module without changing platform or the resident’s identity.

Which Govlink™ modules it works with

  • Govlink ID: one identity to book at any office.
  • Self-service portal: book, cancel and see your own appointments.
  • Official communications: reminders and notices if the office changes its schedule.
  • Digital procedures: when the service is also filed online, the appointment is linked to it.
  • Reports and analytics: demand and no-shows by service and site.

See how your offices would book with Govlink™

  • Kiosk, counter and app on the same schedule, through the API.
  • Reminders, attendance records and demand dashboards.

Simple Appointments is the module many cities start Govlink™ with: it rolls out fast and residents notice it the first week.
